When it comes to fashion blunders, you can’t get much worse than the “socks with sandals” look. Why? For one thing, it looks silly. But since taste is subjective, let’s go with logic. Sandals are meant to allow your feet to breath while still protecting your soles. So, when you pull on a pair of constrictive tube socks before slipping into your Birkenstocks, you have defeated the entire purpose of wearing sandals.
The socks ‘n’ sandals look is often the domain of the hopelessly dorky. (i.e., everyone’s Dad). But one clothing company has upped the dorkiness ante by making “Sandal Socks,” a pair of socks that makes you look like you’re wearing them with sandals.

Like the socks ‘n’ sandals look itself, Sandal Socks don’t make much sense. If you wanted to wear them in public, nobody would be able to tell. You’d need a pair of shoes, which would cover them up, or a pair of sandals, which would just look like you’re wearing regular socks with sandals. You could only really get the full effect by wearing them around the home, and your loved ones already know that you’re a lost cause.
So in this sense, Sandal Socks are perfect.

Sandal Socks are made by “Laughmart,” a novelty gift company about which little public information is available. They don’t have a website, and the only other product they appear to make is called “Mr. Sniffles,” an egg yolk that makes your egg whites look like snot.

Sandal Socks are obviously meant to be gag gifts. From the product reviews, it seems that most people have given them as gifts to mock their friends who actually wear sandals and socks.
