As you probably remember, high school is filled with scandal, drama, and backstabbing. It’s pretty much a teenage soap opera…and it can get pretty crazy sometimes.
And we’re about to get a huge dose of high school scandal thanks to a tweeter who put this question out there.

1. Uh oh…
Time to go.
In 1967 junior school master was arrested in men’s toilets. My father came home & told Mum ‘that Mr— has been caught importuning’.
Head mistress announced in assembly that Mr— had left because he is er..ill’.
I shouted out ‘yes, he’s caught importuning’.

Our class president stole the class money and blew it all on cocaine in the years after graduation.

3. That’s pretty sad.
He was just trying to get by.
A former student lived in the school for several weeks. He went to some classes, worked on the set for the school play, and slept behind the stage. He carried an old student ID. He was living in the US illegally. When he got caught, he got deported.

Back in the ’70s.
I was at an all girls boarding school in the 70s.
One of the UVth girls got caught posing naked for the builders working on the new Science block.

5. Glad the teacher wasn’t in the car…
That’s pretty wild.
Remember finding one of my teachers passed out drunk when I was in 6th form. Locked his room and went to get another teacher I could trust to help him. One kid petrol bombed a teachers car on the last day, teacher was not in the car btw.

The things people used to get away with…
Middle school, teacher ended up jailed for being a pedo. It was back in the 70s, why nobody thought it odd he only took the boys camping or to his apt for overnights…in high school, girl I knew married the guidance counselor. What’s a 25 year age diff when you’re 16? Lurve.

7. An affair.
And he got a nickname out of it.
Not my school but… headmaster had affair with woman living above fish and chip shop. Punched her when relationship soured. She smashed a window in his marital home and ended up in court. News of the World covered case where affair became public; boys called him Coddy thereafter

8. Almost never in school.
Crazy times!
Two disgruntled ex pupils burned down the school ? which meant that together with outside toilets that froze every winter ? & the 80s teaching strikes we were almost never in school, praise be ??

9. Death by javelin.
Never heard of that before.
We had two. First was the gym mistress having a ‘relationship’ with one of the boys and in my next school someone was killed by a javellin. Horrendous experience.

we had a girl stalking the vain PE teacher. he was terrified. she was very good at it- proper single, white female shit. pretty sure she only did it for ‘the sport’

Science teacher got a student pregnant. She had the kid, they got married. She was 16. They’re still together and have 4 grown up kids.

12. The haunted hedge.
Stop the nonsense!
Someone said the hedge opposite our school was haunted. This resulted in many sightings, mass hysteria and the local bowling green ( which the hedge housed) being inundated with hysterical teens. The school had to issue a statement to stop the nonsense ?
