This Guy Reimagined 80's Pop Songs As Stephen King Book Covers

What makes a great title? It’s gotta be short, ideally only a couple words, or maybe just one. It’s gotta be memorable, so it should be specific–nobody’s going to remember a book that’s just called The House, for example. The title should evoke the mood of whatever it’s for. And it should make you want to learn more.

Those are basic rules, but they work for pretty much any sort of media–from horror novels to R&B songs. That’s why Brazilian artist Butcher Billy has taken two completely different forms of media–80s pop songs and Stephen King novels–and switched the titles. Turns out, a song title for a romantic ballad can also sound a lot like a terrifying story when you put it in a different context–I mean, “Every Breath You Take (I’ll Be Watching You)” already sounds creepy as hell, so it’s not much of a stretch to imagine it as a thriller.

If you’re a fan of 80s music, the master of horror Stephen King, or both, you’ll wish these books were real.
