The Internet has changed the way we find love. According to one survey, more than one third of married couples met online. These days, practically everyone looking for love has a profile on a dating site or app, which means you’ve never had more potential mates to choose from.
Of course, the downside of having that much choice is that people can be picky. Something as small as the type of glasses you wear might not be a big deal in real life, but online it could very well be a deal-breaker.
Just how picky do people get on dating apps? Advice columnist Beth McColl asked that very question on Twitter. She kicked things off by sharing one of her own petties reasons for swiping left. (Warning: language.)
And her Twitter followers had a lot of responses. Below are 15 of the pettiest reasons why people said “no thanks” to another person’s dating profile. Now you don’t have to feel so bad for rejecting that person who likes Hawaiian pizza.
1. Giddyup.
2. When you just want someone to watch Netflix with.
3. No Snapchat, no exceptions.
4. The workout warrior
5. Swipe left, you must.
6. Your Michael Scott quotes impress no one.
7. Total Hufflepuff move.
8. Gone fishin’? No thanks.
9. The makeup critic no one asked for.
10. Keeping it all in the family.
11. Tongue tied.
12. Ain’t no mountain high.
13. Going overboard with self-help.
14. “I’m from the school of hard knocks. I was held back a year.”
15. Just no, to all of these.
