This Japanese Couple Matches Their Outfits Every Day

There’s an old cliche that says the longer a married couple stays together, the more they begin to look like each other. Whether this cliche is really true or not is uncertain, but one Japanese couple is doing everything they can to make it true. Meet Tsuyoshi and Tomi Seki, the husband and wife who coordinate their outfits every day.

The couple, who also go by the names Bon and Pon, (a reference to their Christian names), have been married for 38 years. But the outfit matching only began after their hair turned gray. “Since we both have gray hair, we thought it’d be funny to match our fashion styles, so we started wearing clothes of the same color and patterns,” Pon told Buzzfeed.

Their daughter, Ms. May, began photographing their outfits when they would go on trips together. In 2016, she encouraged her parents to share the photos on Instagram. Since then, Bon and Pon have racked up hundreds of thousands of followers, who find their relationship charming and inspiring.

They don’t plan their outfits beforehand. “We decide based on how we feel each day,” Pon said. “We like monotones, red and blue, so inevitably we decide on colors we both like.”
