Remember what going to a movie was like?
It would sure be a lot of fun to do that again, wouldn’t it…? Hopefully, we can do it again sometime soon.
But until then, we have to hunker down in our houses and watch everything on our own TVs. Sure, things could be a lot worse, but it would be wonderful to go to the theater, grab a snack and a drink, and see some movie magic on the big screen.
People recently took to Twitter to share their favorite experiences from watching movies in the theater.
It’s a lot of fun, let’s check it out!
1. This introvert was proud.
Erupted with laughter.
They’re promoting the Titanic anniversary rerelease before a movie my wife and I were seeing. The trailer editors include the line, “I’ll promise I’ll never let go!” My wife loudly exclaims “LIAR!” and the theater erupts with laughter. This introvert was proud.

2. That’s pretty funny.
That guy got ’em with a zinger!
I saw Inception on opening night. Leo crawls out of the water and a man behind me yells “holy f***, he survived Titanic.” The whole theater was wheezing.

3. What a great movie.
It never gets old!
Jaws I was 9, went with my dad, the whole packed cinema completely transfixed. I saw it again a couple of years ago and even though my dad passed a long time ago I could feel him sat next to me. The power of cinema

4. The Sixth Sense.
There goes the popcorn!
Age 15, went to see the Sixth Sense shortly after it came out. The lady in front of me was so startled when Mischa Barton reached out from under the bed and grabbed Haley Joel Osmont’s ankle that she launched all of her popcorn in the air ?

5. Hahahaha. Hilarious.
Ritalin should cure her head from spinning around, right?
Watching the re-release of THE EXORCIST in 2000 with an audience that had mostly never seen it and how when the doctor suggests Regan be prescribed Ritalin everyone burst into laughter

6. Didn’t realize it was a musical.
Do your research!
I went to see Sweeney Todd and it was PACKED with groups of guys. I checked the description and realised the cinema hadn’t included it was a musical so it just read “serial killer takes over London.”
After two songs one guy said out loud “I think they’re going to keep singing” https://t.co/sM0xIjJv3N— natalie tran (@natalietran) June 28, 2020
7. The books are awesome.
And so are the movies!
Watched Harry Potter The Sorcerer’s Stone the first weekend it was in theatres. During the scene where they first reveal the Gryffindor dorm, the little girl next to me whispered to her mom, “It’s exactly like I imagined.” And that’s why books are awesome.

8. Burst into tears.
Wonder Woman to the rescue!
Watching Wonder Woman: during the establishing scene of Diana as a little girl watching the Amazonians train & mimicking their fight moves; in that moment, a little girl in our row leapt out of her seat & minicked young Diana mimicking the women, & my wife & I burst into tears. pic.twitter.com/ujENQ8gQj1

9. What do you think you’re doing?!?!
People got fired up!
When the Emperor attacked Luke in our local RETURN OF THE JEDI premiere, the whole audience spontaneously STOOD UP and shouted at Vader.
For the last time in their lives, the fans had no idea what would happen. When he chose, the house nearly came down.
An unrepeatable moment. https://t.co/L0KvK8kua3 pic.twitter.com/pahBZ9huDX

11. A classic piece of cinema!
Right? Right?!?!
Watching “Snakes on a Plane” with an opening night crowd that made fun of everything. At a quiet moment when two characters reconcile and shake hands, somebody screams “HANDSHAKES ON A PLANE!”

12. Horrified silence.
Followed by…this…
When Spock died in Star Trek II, there was horrified silence and some crying in the audience, and then somebody in the back said, “He’s dead, Jim.”
