This Architect Designs Really Inconvenient Everyday Products

Who says that all products need to be designed with convenience in mind?

Pssshttttt. No way!

At least not according to Katerina Kamprani. The architect from Greece designs intentionally awkward and inconvenient everyday objects in a series she calls “The Uncomfortable.”

This is how Kamprani describes the project on her Facebook page:

“The uncomfortable started as a twisted sadistic design project. It messed up it’s creator’s head [and the heads of people she knows].

It exists in sketches and 3d visualizations and has no meaningful purpose. It’s a parasite in the world of materialism and design.”

Let’s take a look!

1. Right back in your face!

Don’t use this in your yard.

2. Just looking at these makes my mouth hurt.

Better off just using a straw.

3. Dinner will be difficult tonight.

Try using this while eating your pasta.

4. Maybe you could try to drink gravy out of it?

Might be worth a shot…

5. I’m getting frustrated about this inflatable paddle.

Maybe you should only use this in a pool.

6. A concrete umbrella.

Yikes. Be careful with this one.

7. Coffee for two?

Not so fast…

8. Have a seat!

On second thought…maybe you shouldn’t…

9. Eating soup just got a lot harder.

I don’t like the looks of this at all.

10. Wine lovers are REALLY not gonna like this one.

The vino will be flowing…all over your face.

11. Even more uncomfortable than the first one.

Try not to fall on the floor.

Those are great!

I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anything designed to be uncomfortable on purpose, but I’m a big fan.

Now we want to hear from you.

In the comments, tell us about any other unusual products or designs you think we should know about.

Please and thank you!
