Remember the good, old days? When we were young and innocent and the world was in the palm of our hands?
No, I’m not talking about 40 or 50 years ago, I’m talking about LAST YEAR.
As weird as that might sound, you have to admit that it’s pretty true. We had no idea in 2019 what 2020 going to bring us: the hard times, the misery, the pain.
And this new reality inspired a funny Twitter thread where folks talked about things they’ve said in the middle of the pandemic that would’ve made no sense last year.
Let’s take a look.
1. Yes! Score!
It’s kind of weird to get excited about toilet paper.
Charmin Ultra! Score!

2. The new rules.
We all live by ’em, for now…
*at the grocery store*
Stop touching your mask and keep it on your face…

3. Wouldn’t that be nice!
Can’t wait for this to happen again.
Looking forward to seeing the bottom half of your face someday!

4. Drive-by birthday.
It’s the norm these days.
All of my child’s friends are going to drive passed our house and honk at her for her birthday

5. Three months?!?!
You can catch up on all your shows.
What are we going to binge watch while we’re home for the next three months…
— kim (@kimhartartist) June 28, 2020
Never thought I’d hear someone say that.
Restaurants are too dangerous

7. See you on Zoom.
Give me another drink!
What time is Zoom brunch?
— Mommyyyyyy (@elliewilhelm) June 28, 2020
8. Oh, noooooooo!
No parents want to hear this.
Get out your computers, kids. It’s time to homeschool!
— Chelsea (@chelsealchapman) June 28, 2020
9. What a crazy time we live in.
We can only hope that things will get better.
I am staying home for 6 months, but if I do go out I will wear a mask.
— deborah k gray (@Gibbsgirl25) June 28, 2020
10. Stick ’em up!
Not really, I just want some coffee.
I feel like a robber every time I walk in a store
— One Cool Mama (@onecoolma) June 28, 2020
11. Please let me come in and work!
This would’ve blown your mind in 2019.
Can I please come back to work in the office?
— Boomer Brett “Stay safe” (@TheChandlerDude) June 28, 2020
