People Share The Weirdest Nicknames They Call Their Pets

Naming your pet is one of the first big decisions you’ll make as a pet owner. It’s important to think carefully about what you want to be yelling at 3 a.m. while your furry little buddy rummages through the neighbor’s trash cans. Often, people pick their pet’s name based on the pet’s personality or what the pet looks like. Otherwise, a new pet owner might go with a classic pet name, (like “Rex” for a dog or “Princess” for a cat), a character from pop culture, or just a regular ol’ human name.

But as all pet owners know, there’s the name on their collar, and then there are the many more names you call them on a daily basis. These are nicknames, half-nicknames, sometimes simply just loving noises you make to show your pet how you feel about them. Twitter user @Metroadlib illustrated this concept when they shared the many goofy, loving nicknames they call their dog, whose real name is “Cooper.”
