Meet The Woman Who Transformed Herself Into A Dragon

You don’t claim to be “the most modified transsexual in the world” without being able to back it up. But Eva Tiamat Medusa, of Bruni, Texas, has a legit claim to the title after spending nearly $60,000 to transform herself into a dragon, with plans for $40,000 more.

Meet Eva–or as she’s also known, the Dragon Lady.

Eva has undergone numerous bodily transformations to bring out her reptile side. Her nose has been re-shaped, and her ears have been removed completely. She’s gotten extensive face and body tattoos, and she has eight horns implanted in her head. Her eyes are dyed green, and her tongue is bifurcated.

Eva was born Richard Hernandez, in Bruni, TX. In 1997, she was living as a man and working as the vice president of a bank, but an HIV diagnosis prompted a self-discovery. “My big thing though was I didn’t want to die in this world looking like a human,” she told Wizard of Odd TV. “As much awesomeness and goodness there is in humans, compared to other species they are the most destructive and hateful. I decided at that time, that it was time for a change in my life, so I wanted to look like something that wasn’t human.”

Now that she’s become the Dragon Lady, Eva hopes her story spreads awareness about transgenderism and trans-speciesism. As she said on Wizard of Odd:

“I would like for there to be an open dialogue about the world of body modification and understand what it was like to live as a gay-man for 53-years and now as a transsexual woman.

There’s a lot of misunderstanding about what it means to be transsexual and then further than that – something that I’m introducing – the idea of trans-speciesism.

I consider myself not just to be human anymore; I’m human and reptilian. My greatest desire in life is to continue my body modification until my metamorphosis is complete.

This is what drives me – this is the reason why I get up every day and live.

I hope that my story will help other people – not only those who have gone through hard times, but also people who have lost hope.”

Body modification might seem extreme to some, but we’re glad Eva found what she was looking for. You can check out her full appearance on Wizard of Odd below, and you can check out her regularly updated Instagram here.
