In case you don’t remember, high school is FULL of drama.
Romance, intrigue, alliances. It was intense!
The big scandal during my Freshman year of high school was a kid stabbed another kid during a fight in a hallway during a passing period and he got “sent away” for a while. This was in a nice, suburban area too, so it was definitely shocking to students, teachers, and parents.
The last three years of high school were pretty quiet. Sadly, there were a few kids who died in car accidents but those were tragedies more than scandals.
People took to Twitter to talk about the biggest scandals that happened at their schools.

1. He went to jail.
Not a good idea…
I don’t know about the biggest, but an English teacher from the Jr. High School got a blowjob in his car from a gal from my high school that I knew from the AV Club who found out she had cancer the day after the story broke. Ps He went to jail!

2. Wow! That’s crazy.
Had to be hard for a teenager.
Visiting award-winning novelist committed suicide in a pretty gruesome fashion days after leaving the school and it was in People Magazine and I was his tour guide.

3. Bad move by the school.
Fire that guy!
My HS band director slept with students. When the school found out, they quietly passed him off to a less-wealthy nearby school district instead of reporting him, where he continued abusing.
My rich school didn’t want the bad press that came with public action against him.

4. Total scammer.
Also, remember AOL?
A fellow student used AOL Chatrooms to gather credit card information from unsuspecting users by pretending to be AOL Services. Bought thousands of dollars worth of electronics.

5. The cop was really on top of it.

Someone broke into the history teacher’s apartment, shit in her closet, cut up some of her clothes and tore photos of her family in half. The cops said “So, this looks personal.”

6. Poor Abe…
He just can’t catch a break.
For a senior prank, a group of kids in my grade moved a life-size statue of Abraham Lincoln across the school and into the auditorium. They tried lowering the statue from the second floor to the first by tying a rope around its neck. When they did, poor Abe’s head popped off.

Junior high, but: the school resource officer was calling in bomb threats, so he could act heroic in front of the one of the front office ladies he had a crush on.

9. HOLY SHIT.
That is insane.
These two cheerleaders were murdered at a lookout on the south side of my hometown. The town was shocked and held all these tributes. Later they caught the guy and it turns out they owed like 5-10 grand to a Russian cocaine dealer.

Jr. year, ACTs were stolen!!!! Everyone had to retake the test – and everyone *knew* who it was, but nobody ratted. Incredible.
