For lots of parents, one of their most precious possessions is a drawing from their child. But UK father Tom Curtis found a novel way to appreciate his son Dom’s artwork, with a project called Things I Have Drawn. The idea is simple: Dom draws a picture, then Tom recreates it realistically in photoshop. Seeing a childlike drawing suddenly turned into a real-life object is equal parts charming and disturbing. “The original idea was to make all the drawings really creepy,” Tom told an interviewer. “But Dom kept drawing animals that were more happy than creepy. I think what we’ve achieved is a bit of both.”

The project went viral a couple years ago when Tom posted one of the side-by-side recreations on Reddit. Since then, he’s created an Instagram account where he shares the artwork. He also recreates drawings by his younger son, Alistair.

Below, you can check out some of their creations, (via Bored Panda.) They’re definitely fridge-worthy.
