There’s no doubt about it: Amy Winehouse was a singular talent who left her mark on music and left this world way too soon.

The singer passed away from al**hol poisoning in 2011 at the age of 27 and a film based on her life entitled Back to Black has started production.

But some fans aren’t pleased with the casting of actress Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse and the late singer’s father, Mitch Winehouse, has decided to come out in support of the biopic about his late daughter’s life.

Mitch Winehouse said, “Marisa’s a great choice for the role, even if she doesn’t look exactly like Amy. It’s no big deal if they aren’t mirror images.”

In fact, Winehouse added, the actor hired to play him, Eddie Marsan, “doesn’t look anything like me either.”
