There are some foods that are pretty universal for American Thanksgiving: turkey (of course), stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pumpkin pie, etc. You can go to almost any house on Thanksgiving and you’ll end up having a pretty typical meal that day.

But…a lot of families also apparently have some downright strange recipes for Thanksgiving as well. Foods that some of us might recoil at if it was placed in front of us.
