As adults, it’s easy to forget just how tricky it was to learn how to read and write–especially when your native language is English, which is one of the more challenging languages to learn. First of all, our language has a LOT of words. The official count, according to the Oxford English dictionary, is a whopping 171,467. Then there are all the variations in how words are spelled and pronounced. Two words might be spelled the same but sound completely different–take “tough” and “dough,” for example. Or you might have two words with the same sound, but spelled differently, like the endings of “trolley” and “jolly.”

Given how much of a disaster our language is, it’s no surprise that kids have trouble picking up the nuances of reading and writing. And that’s where the hilarity begins. Inevitably, kids will try to write an innocent sentence only to miss one letter, turning it into a phrase that would make even the most jaded Penthouse reader blush.

Via Bored Panda, here are 15 times kids were accidentally inappropriate–as well as 15 parents who had a helluva time not laughing.
