If you’re an American, there’s a good chance that you DEFINITELY put in too many hours every week.
And that brings us to today’s topic.
Check out these tweets from people who sounded off about how we ALL work too much these days.
1. Oh, Brian…
This is rough.
2. Stop this nonsense.
Not the same.
“We all have the same 24 hours.”
Use public transport? Your 24 hours are not the same as those of private jet owners.
Do your own cooking, cleaning, child~raising? Your 24 hours are not the same as those of someone with a full~time domestic staff.
Stop this nonsense.

3. Jealous again.
Keep moving forward!
I’m not jealous of rich people bc of the things they have, I’m jealous of rich people because they get to pursue their passions in life without having to work a gruelling 40+ hours a week job literally just to get by

4. Sounds better, doesn’t it?
I don’t think it’s gonna happen.
Mankind wasn’t meant to work in December. We were meant to hide from wolves, drink, and pray our autumn harvest will last us through the Dark Months

5. Hard to think about.
But that’s the way it works.
Working your whole life just to ‘enjoy’ a few years when you’re close to death is one of the biggest scams

6. What happened to hobbies?
Rinse and repeat…
Anyone else stuck in this weird cycle where work is so exhausting that your hobbies feel like too much work so you don’t do them then you go back to work upset that you didn’t take time to do the things you like and rinse and repeat?

7. This is life.
Are you being productive?
“Nobody wants to work anymore.”
Nobody ever wanted to work at all. We wanted to be productive, be creative, be part of a community, be supported, be validated, and have the time and space to truly rest. No one actually wants to trade in hours of their life to “earn” necessities.

8. Good point.
Why in the age of supercomputers and smart robotics do we need to work 60 hours a week just so we don’t starve and freeze to death? Surely we’ve reached the point where any scarcity left is intentionally created by those hoarding all the wealth. How is this not the standard view?

9. The system.
It’s tough out there.
10. The weekly grind.
Over and over again…
11. Think about it.
Are we doing it wrong?
western cultures believe we must be alive for a purpose. to work, to make money. some indigenous cultures believe we’re alive just as nature is alive: to be here, to be beautiful & strange. we don’t need to achieve anything to be valid in our humanness. https://t.co/xzv821b0UN
