There are two kinds of awkward situations in life. The first kind is just inherently awkward. No way around it, everyone involved feels uncomfortable. Like accidentally showing your parents’ homemade porn to your 4th grade class. The second kind wasn’t particularly awkward until one or more people involved made it awkward. And it’s the latter kind we bring you today.

A Milwaukee Bucks fan (that’s not the awkward part, keep reading) and his mom were attending last week’s playoff matchup against the Toronto Raptors, but to the arena’s Kiss Cam, they looked like just another couple – albeit one with a May-December thing going on. The Kiss Cam found them, put them up on the big screen. Here’s the result:

I like how the guy thought he could explain his way out of the situation by mouthing “That’s my mom!” We all know the Kiss Cam is merciless, pal.

I also like the lady seated behind them, who seems to realize what’s happening before Mom or her son do, and revels in it:

And the guy behind HER who sees himself in the corner of the screen and, despite clearly not being the Kiss Cam’s focus, still mugs anyway:

In the end, they weren’t able to give the Kiss Cam what it wanted. Maybe they froze in the spotlight, or maybe they’re just not comfortable with mother-son PDA’s. But for most of us, kissing Mom is the most normal thing in the world, and if you’re ever in this situation, we’d encourage you to relax. It’s not like kissing someone automatically means you’re DATING.

Right?
